HCG Purchasing Co-op aggregates buying power to save money, time, and effort

Save Money

Bulk purchasing provides lower prices.

Save Time

We do all the bidding leg work for you and meet all legal procurement requirements.

Save Effort

If you experience problems with a product or service, we leverage the clout of the entire purchasing volume to solve them quickly and easily.

What We Offer

We administer a formal bidding process for a wide variety of products and services for schools, municipalities, nonprofits, and public entities throughout Massachusetts.

How It Works

There is no fee to participate in any of our bids. Estimates for goods and services are collected from participants, aggregated, and then advertised collectively.

“The Hampshire Purchasing Co-op assisted me with completing the paperwork to participate in the highway bids. The result was the town got much better pricing; saving about $20/ton on hot mix and $5/ton on road salt. The pricing is good for a full year and if towns have funds left, they can get an early start on the next construction season. We are definitely saving money, which is a good thing for small towns, and I will use the Hampshire Purchasing Co-op again.”

– John R. Hoppe, Russell Highway Department

“My participation in the yearly arts and crafts bid has drastically changed how I order supplies for my students.  Because I am able to test the supplies and have a say in the decision-making process, I now can make more informed decisions as to what products I order each year.  Although testing the products first hand ranks at the top of the reasons why I participate, having the opportunity to order supplies at the best possible pricing options comes in at a very close second.  In the world of teaching at a public school, every teacher knows how difficult times are regarding spending.  Art is considered a luxury, and the more bang for my buck I can get, the better the experience I can offer my students.”

– Lauretta Saldo, Taconic High School, Pittsfield, MA

“I look forward to participation in the Art Bid process each year.  Testing the products and finding the best product for the best price is a benefit to the success of my art program.  I want to be able to spend my allotted monies wisely.  Participating in the bid allows me the opportunity to make educated decisions about the products I select.”

– Kim Hyman, Art Teacher, Allendale Elementary & Capeless Elementary (Pittsfield Public Schools)
