Renewable Energy Data Specialist

Works on a team to research, coordinate, and implement all functions needed for the development of Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SRECs), Alternative Energy Certificate (AEC) Aggregation, and Sustainability programs offered by HCG’s Electricity Department.

These functions include development of renewable energy programs, and regulatory documentation of customers and monitoring of Department of Energy Resources’ (DOER) Solar Carve Out and Alternative Generation programs. The coordinator also works with and assists in the strategic planning and implementation of digital marketing campaigns.

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week in Northampton, MA

Responsibilities

  • Supports AEC/SREC Aggregation programs to grow revenue, maintaining management of internal processes, and providing external customer service
  • Reports and reviews regulatory documentation for DOER applications for accuracy, and streamlines documentation through automation
  • Manages customer relationships with clients and partners, ensuring quality control and high satisfaction
  • Assists with quarterly payments to customers, as needed
  • Develops educational materials concerning energy markets and sustainability
  • Assists with the creation and implementation of digital marketing campaigns to expand customer database
  • Edits and updates website, email campaigns, and landing pages
  • Tracks marketing progress through Google analytics, analyzes email results to improve email marketing efforts

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Knowledge of and interest in renewable energy market
  • Highly skilled in database systems, CRMs, and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Strong ability to remain focused on detail-oriented data
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge in WordPress, Google analytics, and SEO
  • Experience optimizing and executing online marketing campaigns
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and staff, orally and in writing
  • Excellent time-management skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to independently execute tasks in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Follows through on tasks and projects, to meet deadlines
  • Flexible and positive, takes initiative, and demonstrates good judgement

Sustainability Intern

HCG is seeking an intern to assist in implementing functions needed for the development of Solar Renewable Energy Certificates(SRECs), Alternative Energy Certificate (AEC) Aggregation, and Sustainability programs offered by the HCG Electricity Department. This position is up to 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Registering renewable energy systems with the Department of Energy Resources (DOER);
  • Creating production reports for solar array customers;
  • Assisting with quarterly payments to customers;
  • Providing feedback to help streamline documentation and reporting, and other office systems;
  • Researching best practices in the renewable energy credit market

Desired skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Interest in renewable energy markets;
  • Skilled in Excel, pivot tables and data competent in Word and PowerPoint;
  • Ability to quickly learn and comprehend new software programs;
  • Clear communication with staff, both orally, and in writing;
  • Ability to remain focused on detail-oriented data;
  • Develops and maintains harmonious working relationships;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
